UKRAINIAN CITIES

   

 Ukraine is a country of an ancient history and rich culture. So there are many places of historical and cultural value in Ukraine. 
   In this connection Kyiv — the capital and, besides, the oldest city in Ukraine — is the most interesting.Kyiv is an ancient city rich in historical monuments of art and architecture. Among its famous sights there are the Kyiv-Pecherska Lavra, the Golden Gate, St. Sophia's Cathedral, Volodymir Hill and many others. However, Kyiv isn't the only city of cultural and historical importance.    There are a lot of places of interest in many other cities of Ukraine.










  For example, let's take Kharkov — the first Ukrainian capital. It's the second largest city of Ukraine that is a major cultural centre of our country. There are many museums in the city, such as the Museum of Ukrainian Art, the All-Ukrainian Historical Museum. The city supports a circus and 6 professional theatres, the most famous being Lysenko Opera and the Ballet Theatre, and Pushkin Drama Theatre.







  Zaporizhzhya is a historic area of Ukraine. Here, in Zaporizhzhya, the Cossack movement began in the 15th century.






















   Lvov. It is a city of unusual beauty in Western Ukraine. Lvov was founded by Prince Daniel of Halych in the 13th century. It is the only city in Ukraine that still has some original Renaissance architecture.
   Travelling through the Ukrainian towns, learning about Ukraine's culture and history, admiring its picturesque views, you'll know your country better and love it more!
